ALPI Times Up Sand Timer - 2 Minute - Blue

Well packaged, delivered quickly....very cool, looks like the pic, like a fat little blue diamond, looks great on a desk, shelf, wherever Best part is, youll never have 2 dust it, cuz ppl will b picking it up and playing with it! :) Also, its well made, this can b given to a bored 3 yr old to fiddle with, without worry of breakage

This lovely Sand Timer is very small! It's plastic, and the sand gets sticky...a quick shake resolves it. Having said all that, I would buy it again. My son-in-law likes to play with it and so does my husband. So, mostly good.K Agle4-16-14

If the white bubbles are blocking (in my case) the blue bubbles from rising, it is an easy fix. Shake the timer up and down a few times. This breaks the white bubbles that are large and blocking, into tiny bubbles that will rise just before the colored bubbles rise. I hope this helps. This is a great toy. I keep it by my computer, and any time I have to wait, I start the timer. The bubbles making waiting easy. Enjoy!

I just received my package today and I am very disappointed. First, I hate that I did not realize that this was VERY small. It literally fits in my hand. For some reason I thought it was bigger. But I guess that is my fault for not reading the description. But what is not my fault is...IT DOES NOT WORK. The blue sand is just stuck and does not move. What a waste of money. :(

The timer, which would have worked better had half the water not leaked out of it and soaked the envelope, seemed to work with what water was left in it. It only measures 2 inches tall. I don't know if I remember reading that in the description of it. Even though it doesn't work (not enough water to work correctly) people still keep turning it over and making it work to the best of its ability. I was looking for visual "timers" for my classroom but this will not be it.

I purchased 8 of the hourglasses (2 of each color) and they kept my husband entertained for a week trying to see which one was the fastest. Some of them took 2½ minutes for the "sand" to reach the top and one hourglass took 5 minutes. There is an air bubble in each of them and sometimes the bubble blocks the way for the sand to pass through. You can simply tip the hourglass a bit to encourage the air bubble to pass and then the sand flows freely. In regards to the 8 I purchased, the blue colored ones flowed the slowest and the green ones were the fastest. I would suggest some supervision when allowing younger children to play with them because they would probably break if thrown a time or two, but they are sturdy enough that they won't break if dropped.Hopefully the grandchildren will enjoy them as much as my husband and I have. I would recommend this product to others.Two months later...My grandchildren love playing with these timers. One timer got snapped in half and we were worried the water would run out and there would be a mess. Not so. None of the liquid or sand/silica came out. I had to literally bang the toy against my hand in order to dump the contents in the sink. Even when broken this toy has good qualities.

I have all the different colors & have them in my kitchen window. Make nice accents.

So small you can barely see it , about 2 inch. Blue sand is pretty , if you can see it!
