The Roosebeck dulcimer capo
The capo works very well. Simple design, nice looking, good price. It opened up more creative possibilities in myplaying

Great Capo
This capo does the job it was made to do quite well. It seems sturdy enough to last as long as my dulcimer.

Extremely disappointing capo
This is not a very good quality capo. It completely lacks any padding anywhere on the unit. This prevents the capo from getting a good grip on the strings and allows them to buzz. Not only that, but without any padding, you are clamping a capo on your instrument without any protection. This can scratch and scar your instrument, so if you have a dulcimer you've invested a lot of money into, this would not be a very good choice. Also, the part of the capo that connects with the adjustment screw is a piece of wood with no protection, simply applying the capo causes damage to the unit. I contacted the manufacturer the day I received the capo. They responded that they sell a lot of these and don't get complaints, but I don't see how that is possible. They refunded my money, but did not want me to send the capo back, which I found odd. I tried to use it a couple of times after this and it actually broke. I would say that if you're wanting a quality dulcimer capo, stay well clear of this item. I now have a Ron Ewing capo and love it. If you're looking for a good capo, do yourself a favor and go check out Ron Ewing's capos instead.

Fits the fret board, works well
The Capo works okay as delivered, as is. However, to avoid the wood on wood contact I chose to glue two leather squares to the inside for extra grip. See photo

Waste of money
One of these days I will learn to read reviews before I order; I used this exactly twice and it is not worth the money at all!! The capo will not hold tension, so that the dulcimer strings either buzz or are off tune before the end of a song- let alone getting through a practice session.I’m a fairly new player, but with lots of guitar/mandolin experience and I expected a capo to actually work as it is supposed to.Returning it tomorrow and back to the drawing board
