If your dog doesn't chew...
4 stars for the bed. A plus 1 for their customer service.I liked the overall concept. The memory foam appeared to be of good quality, I liked the idea of the waterproof liner. Um...if your dog doesn't chew at all, you should be fine. But ours does - and against my better judgement, I left him alone with this bed and it didn't even last 24 hours. $80 down the drain in less than a day. It's my fault although I had a concern from the beginning - I admit it, and I'll explain. The bed I purchased was for his crate, and it filled the bottom from edge to edge. This is a substantial piece of memory foam and I purchased one of the larger sizes so it was awkward & heavy trying to put it in and take it out of the crate repeatedly. And our pup who loves lounging on pillows and squishy things was so delighted with his new bed that I elected to leave it in there for him instead of pulling it out. My fault. All my fault.BUT. Before I even gave it to him I did have this concern & I messaged DogBeds4Less about it: the denim outer cover was nowhere near as heavyweight as I was expecting based on reviews, blogs, and the product description.I was disappointed in the outer cover. And why in the world would you put such a large tag on the outside of a bed cover for dogs? Why not inside the cover? If I put the bed tag side down, it would give our Lab easier access to the zipper. Bearing that in mind, I realized I'd have to cut the tag off before I could give it to him. Imagine my chagrin when I cut the tag and the whole seam started to come apart! AARGHHH!Once the chewing commenced - there was foam everywhere in our house. And he absolutely destroyed the waterproof liner - pulled the zipper completely out of it & threw that part down the hall. He's joyous in his destruction, apparently. I couldn't get a good picture of that part because we were trying to contain the mess, but apparently once that fabric starts ripping it's really easy for them to shred the whole liner. However, our pup chews - that's not the fault of DogBeds4Less, and I realize that. It was my fault for letting him be unsupervised for any length of time with it.Now, I have to give mad props for this: when I emailed DogsBed4Less with my concern about the cover, they responded the same day, they agreed my concern about the tag was valid and said it was a new concept they had recently adopted. Cassandra asked to see pictures and when I explained that the bed didn't make it, she offered me a one time replacement of the cover. She didn't have to do that - they have no warranty against chewing and they don't claim to be industrial strength. I told her I really appreciated that and if they sent a replacement cover perhaps I could cut off the part of the foam that was damaged and pass it along to my parents' smaller dog if nothing else - someone would benefit from it.So. If your pup doesn't chew, you should be good. I could have given this to our other Lab and it would have been perfectly fine, destroying it would never even cross his mind. It's a quality piece of memory foam and my concerns with the cover can be compensated for. And they are obviously a stand-up company. If your dog doesn't chew, you're golden. Have I mentioned that you shouldn't give it to a chewer? ;-)

So far, it's the best dog bed we have owned - UPDATED 10/1/21
We purchased this memory foam dog bed for our medium-sized Boxer. The size is a very good fit for her and does not take up excessive space in the room. So far, we are very pleased with our purchase (and I think she is too).Observations after almost two months:- I was surprised by the weight of the foam bed. Much heavier than the old polyfoam bed it was replacing.- As others have stated, the initial chemical odor was quite strong. We left the foam bed out of the denim cover for several days with the waterproof cover zipper unzipped to air out, but the smell was still there. After about a week, we put the cover on and began using the bed without a problem. Not noticeable at all now, and hasn't been for sometime.- Our dog had no problem with sleeping on the bed from the first night. We "tricked" her by also putting the cover from her old bed over this bed (old cover + new cover + waterproof cover...they were almost identical in size), so her smell was there. She could tell something was off as the squishy feel of the memory foam was quite different from her old polyfoam bed, but she got used to it very quickly.- Our dog sleeps very well on this bed. It is hard to quantify any differences there...she snored while sleeping on the old bed and she snores while sleeping on this bed.- After almost two months of use, there is no detectable indention in the bed where our dog sleeps on it. She weighs 80 pounds, so she is no lightweight. The cheaper beds would indent in no time. I am interested in how that holds up over additional time.- We have not had any bed wetting events yet to test the waterproof cover, but they will happen eventually. That was a big selling point for us as she has had a couple of bladder infections and accidents. Also, with aging dogs comes eventual bladder control issues. Time will tell on that aspect too.No regrets on the purchase at this point.UPDATE 8/4/16: We have now had this dog bed for about a year. Still no indention where our pet sleeps, and she loves it. All covers and foam holding up better than expected.UPDATE 8/17/18: Well...three years later and this bed has still retained its shape and apparent comfort. We continue to use another bed cover over the denim so we have not washed our denim cover extensively, but it still looks like new. Totally pleased with our purchase and wish I had found this bed even sooner than we did. Our ten-year-old Boxer agrees!UPDATE 10/1/21: Can't say enough good things about these beds. Our old Boxer girl is now about 13 years old and nearing the end of her life. This bed will outlive her. The first two photos of the bed alone were taken just today. As you can see, the bed we purchased for her 5 years ago looks almost as good as the day we bought it. Still as firm as day one. The denim cover has been washed an unknown number of times and dried on EXTRA LOW heat, and has never required replacement. We keep it covered with a beach towel most of the time as our old girl's bladder doesn't quite hold up like it used to. Was just recommending this bed to my neighbors for their new German Shepherd and Newfoundland puppies. Thought I would update my review and say, hands down, this is the best dog bed you can buy and is well worth the money invested.

dog loves it
My shepherd/border collie mix puppy loves it! Just the right size (medium large) for the 43 lb, 10-month-old dog, with room to grow. Good thickness. I can't speak to easy-to-clean, since I put a washable pad on top. (She's a chewer so drools a lot.) It seems like it would be. The brown denim looks good in our living room. As for durability, we've only had it a few weeks, but she hasn't chewed it yet. (I'm comfortable on it too, when we play,)

The search is over. This is it!
I have 2 dachshunds who have eaten through every bed and blanket they’ve ever had- anything covered in Sherpa or fabric and they love cotton stuffing. This bed was the perfect fix. The memory foam is so cushy that I want to sleep on it. The denim cover keeps them from chewing through it. It comes with extra covers as well. It’s a little pricey but well worth the money.

Dog goes into his crate without a hesitation now that he has this mattress. He almost can't wait for me to open the door!
