Perfect green ink
Green with very similar colors to J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor without the gold flakes. Which basically means it's the best ink ever. It's got the deep dark green/turquoise with healthy shading and a very professional appearance. On cheap paper it doesn't bleed or feather much at all, it's well lubricated, and when you use it on nice paper, it develops a gorgeous, deep red sheen. It's a great ink for everyday, professional use that still has that wow factor that really makes fountain pens worth it.It's also inexpensive, and the only downside is the bottle itself, which has a little inner cup that's not deep enough to hold a nib bigger than about a #6, but the cup can easily be removed and replaced.basically all of the sailor seasons inks are ludicrously well behaved, heavy shading, heavy sheening inks. You owe it to yourself to own a bottle of Yama Dori, Oku-yama, and Souten at the very least.

Still my favourite ink
What can I say, I just really like dark teal. And not only the colour - there is something about the way this ink writes, its sheen, its shading, its brightness, that makes me extra happy. In colour, it's not far off from Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo - another favourite ink - but there is something special about this and other Sailor inks I've tried. I can't pin it down, but they are exceptionally good inks. Still, considering the giant price increase they just went through, from being a reasonably priced ink to a rather outrageously overpriced one, I will probably be sticking mostly to Diamine and Birmingham inks for the future. Then again, in the long term, how much difference does the cost of a bottle of ink really make in the scheme of things? (But those pitiful little 20-ml bottles just offend me!) Regardless, this is a gorgeous ink and worth splurging on.

Nice blue-green with sheen.
Nice ink. Pretty well behaved as far as lubrication, feathering etc and does have some shading. The color profile is what I would loosely call Aqua blue/green and leans slightly towards green when dry. Yama-dori is a touch darker than, but similar to Iroshizuku Ku-jaku, De Atramentis Pigeon Blue. I don't see the sheen unless i'm using a wet writing pen with a broadish nib on good paper like Tomoe River or Rhodia, and you have to view at a bit of an angle in good light.Sailor inks did stain my clear demonstrator Ahab a bit when I used them for over a month without cleaning the pen (especially Oku-yama). I think if you use it in a demonstrator, just clean the pen at least every other week and you'll probably be fine.

Excellent Performance and Nice color
What can I say about this ink that has not been written before??? It is a nice ink and performs very well! The price per ml (oz) is good! Has a nice sheen and does not clog or damage your fountain pens so please use it with confidence in any pen.ESPANOL:Que puedo decir acerca de esta excelente tinta que no haya sido dicho antes? Es una tinta agradable que se comporta muy bien, el precio por ml es bueno. Tiene reflejos y no tapa o danara sus plumas fuentes. Puede usarlo con confianza en cualquier pluma.

Beautiful teal with red sheen
Beautiful, well behaved ink. The color is a dark teal with a gorgeous red sheen. The ink is not too wet, to too dry in my Pilot Metropolitan with a medium nib. I've only tested the ink on Leuchtturm1917 paper. I'm testing it on Rhoda for a video review. On Leuchtturm paper, the dry time is really fast. I'd say 5-10 seconds. Before this, my favorite color was Diamine Marine. This is a contender for my new favorite ink. Some people love the bottle, some people hate it. I like it so far, we'll see when I get to the end of the bottle if that changes. Great price for the amount of ink you get.

Deep teal blue with high sheen
Yama-dori is my first bottle of Sailor ink. I agree with most of the featured reviews--this is a deep teal blue ink that shows lots of red or purple sheen on fountain pen-friendly papers such as Tomoe River or Clairefontaine. From a wet writing pen the color is very dark, however, which hides some of its beautiful hues. It has good flow. As is true for most fountain pen inks, it is not waterproof. I like this ink, but it may be too flashy for some uses such as business. It reminds me of Diamine Majestic Blue in its sheen, although Yama-dori is teal. Very interesting ink!

Garbage plastic in the ink, could not use until I literally pulled a dripping piece of plastic garbage out of the ink bottle.
Although I like the color, when I first tried to use this ink I had no idea there was some plastic part in the ink. I could not fill my pen, then I realized that there was some piece of plastic garbage in there. Removing this got ink everywhere, and it wasted a considerable amount of ink. I will never buy this brand again. There was no warning at all that there was some apparatus (or more realistically junk) that would prevent one from getting a properly-sized 18k nib into the bottle. I would recommend Pilot's inks or Noodlers. Both are superior to this.

Absolutely love this color
Absolutely love this color. The red sheening shows up really well out of my wetter pens and it really nice to see. The ink flow isn't as easy as say Noodlers bullet proof black but it is certainly really well behaved. I've not see feathering or bleed thru even on cheap copy paper with a wet nib and out of drier nibs I haven't had much problems with dry strikes. It dries reasonably fast on proper fountain pen friendly papers like Leuchtturm/Clairefontaine. Overall I just wish it was waterproof and I'd use this color for everything.
