Efficient and sleek
This is our second Dualit kettle, and we only replaced the old one because the cover of the electric lead had become damaged when too near the cooker...our fault, nothing wrong with the kettle.Efficient and fast boiling. Looks clean and sleek.

Dualit kettle
Best kettle out there, I had my last one almost 10 years. A bit more expensive but worth it.

It boils water
It's a kettle, for goodness sake. Of course it boils water. That's all it does.OK, it's quite a heavy kettle - or possibly, a sturdy, solid kettle if you prefer.Inevitably the bright polished metal body and stand gets covered with water stains and fingerprints. Serious wiping and cleaning is needed to retain the good-as-new look. The lid is a devil. When it's closed its held in place by two little bent metal spring clips on the inner edge. It is very stiff to open and close. It certainly won't flap open accidentally when full of recently boiled water. So 10/10 for safety I guess. But, oh what a nuisance in regular use. You are advised that the spring clips can be adjusted by bending them more or less to achieve the desired friction. But that's the job of a lifetime. Bend a bit. Uh-oh, too loose. Bend a bit the other way. Uh-oh, too tight. Bend a bit back again. Uh-oh, too loose again. Etc etc. Even when it's almost perfect you're certain, "Another little tweek will get it ... " Uh-oh!Anyway, it does indeed boil water (did I mention that?) and I can't see it wearing out or breaking any time soon. But nice as it is, it is quite expensive. So overall, it's not really a best buy recommendation.

Looks great, works great
I bought this kettle to replace a Russell Hobbs model that sounded like a jet taking off when in use. I find this kettle to be very quiet, in fact I double checked to see if I'd switched it on because I didn't hear the usual roar lol.The kettle is a lovely size and looks great. It's sturdy and the handle feels good, and it also pours really well. The underside has a place to coil any excess cable do it's not trailing around the worktop. I realise many kettles have this feature, but in this case the cable is actually held in place very well.Best kettle I've had in ages!

Great looking kettle
Great looking kettle and fairly quiet when boiling. Lid was a little tight but instructions showed how to alter & now fine. Easy to use, amount of water makes approx 6 mugs of tea.

Love this kettle!
Love this kettle, more expensive than my earlier kettle, but worth it, as I’m sure it will last longer.. My son had one for 15 years, so here’s hoping mind does too!

Looks good and nice to use
Positives: I really like the look of this kettle and the handle feels good to grab & pour from. The spout has quite a nice flow. It is slightly noisier than my last kettle but it's something I've got use to and you need a lightish area to see the water level. The kettle is environmentally great ie: polished metal and BPA Free dual window, a needs must for me. It is pricy, but if you want something other than 'bog-standard' then you have to pay above the usual price! Looks great and with an optional matching toaster. The negative: The lid is really difficult to open, but eventually I manage it. Its getting easier & if I can do it with Osteoarthritis then probably most people can.Suggestion for upgrade of product - it would be great if the water level feature was illuminated, to blue perhaps, to enhance viewing no matter where you place the kettle.

A replacement for an old Dualit jug kettle. Which was then itself replaced!
Our 4-year-old Dualit Jug Kettle had started to misbehave - switching itself off after a few seconds, for example. So time to get a new kettle. After searching the market, I chose...another Dualit Jug Kettle! It seems there have been some subtle changes - for the better. The switch which was giving us the trouble now feels much more positive in its action. The base which was previously black, now has a smart chrome face. The lid has a smoother open/close action - although this is of course was adjustable anyway. Even the red 'on' light seems slightly bigger and brighter.Kettle noise and boiling time seem much as before. Which is to say - perfectly acceptable. If it lasts at least as long as its predecessor, I shall consider it very good value.UPDATEWell, it didn’t last as long! The replacement would occasionally FAIL to switch off and none of the possible suggested causes seem to apply. So the replacement was itself replaced in May.So far the replacement’s replacement has performed perfectly. Hopefully this is a quality control problem effecting a small number of these kettles that Dualit are resolving.
