Won’t hold an edge
It’s a nice looking santoku. The grip is either real or faux wood and the knife is not too light.But…you buy a knife to cut or slice things. Even with a thorough Trizor sharpening, you’ll get maybe two onions or one piece of meat before the blade becomes dull and not very useful.I have an “entry level” Shun Western-style chef’s knife with a plastic handle that stays sharp throughout the prep for most meals.I am sure there are better santokus, even at or near this price level.

A Good Knife To Have In Your Kitchen
Glad that I purchased this knife. It is made from High Carbon Stainless Steel, very very sharp out of the box. It's quality is exceptional, Full Tang, comfortable in the hand and a joy to use no matter what you might be cutting, slicing, chopping, etc. I was so impressed with this knife, I will probably buy more.
