Very durable and easy to secure.
Nice durable material. I am not sure what exactly it is but this heavy duty vinyl type material held up a lot better in the wind than the previous luggage carrier that was made of a dense cloth (that material frayed after minimal use and left a white powder all over our luggage and inside of the bag). It was easy to secure to the top of our SUV. Advice: always distribute luggage evenly across the bag and cinch everything down tightly to minimize loose pieces that may flap around in the wind. Not doing so can cause loud flapping noises and excess wear on the bag.

Recommend securing bag on roof rack
I have a new 4Runner and we got the rack installed on top. This bag material is durable and waterproof. Securing the bag on the roof rack is the way to go, and I don't anticipate any problems.
