An excellent companion to Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 or 300mm f/4 Pro lenses
An excellent addition to the Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro lens (it also works with the 300mm f/4 Pro lens, but no others). Images remain quite sharp, and convert the zoom to a 56-210mm f/4 lens, an excellent solution for e.g. bird photography. (I haven't tried it with the 300mm f/4, which would be converted to a 420mm f/5.6). These are micro-4/3 focal lengths: on a full frame camera you'd need to double the focal length to get the equivalent field of view, at a corresponding penalty in system size, weight, and price. As an extra bonus when using the MC-14 with the zoom, near-macro shots can be taken (the smallest subject width at the long end is about 55mm, or 2.2"). In this near-macro mode, images are sharp and working distance is comfortable, but due to 210mm focal length the depth of field is very shallow. The MC-14 does double duty for near and far subjects at much smaller size and weight penalty than a second lens. On the negative side (reducing the score to 4 stars) is its relatively high price. It seems to be offered only separately in the U.S. although lens+teleconverter bundles could be attractive.

Want the best TC to go with the best lenses ever (40-150mm f2.8 and 300mm f4 Pro's) "Get the MC14 1.4X
This is a well made TC, tops in fit and function and let me tell you, used with my Oly. E-M1 and 40-150mm f2.8 PRO lens, is as sharp and crisp as you're gunna get! "Tack Sharp from center to all 4 corners!" If it scopes out as good with the New-Up and coming soon, Oly. 300mm f4 PRO, I will have a double hitter! Expensive, YES! But so is all my Nikon gear, and is my wife of 48 years!! Just get one, it is a keeper that you will not regret! Oh, by the way, the MC-14 1.4 will only work with the Olympus 40-150 f2.8 PRO and the New Olympus 300mm f4 PRO lenses, to date! At 1.4X the 40-150 becomes a 56-210 and @ the 2X 35mm crop factor, it is a 112-420mm. The 300mm at 1.4X becomes a 420 and @ the 2X 35mm crop factor, it is a 840mm!!! If all holds true to form as Olympus has, and everything stays sharp, crisp and true to color, what else can I say? :-) The two shots were taken at sundown with my E-M1, MC-14 and Oly 40-150mm f2.8 (f4) same subject at 150 yards and zoom set at 56mm, 1/125, ISO 250 and at 210mm, 1/250, ISO 1250! Both hand held with 5 axis stabilization on etc... R/ The PhotogDog

Perfect
Crazy fast shipping (2 days) and product is perfect. Used for a trip to Australia to shoot wildlife and an equestrian competition, never took it off. Photos are super sharp and autofocus speed had no issues keeping up with running horses.

This great teleconverter stays on my Olympus 14-150mm Pro lens!
I bought the Olympus MC-14 teleconverter to extend the reach of my Olympus 40-150mm 2.8 Pro lens for birds and wildlife photography. It works great. When using this teleconverter the largest aperture drops from 2.8 to 4.0 throughout which is still. I handhold my Olympus OMD-EM5ii with the long lens and the teleconverter when I do my daily 4 mile walk and get many sharp keepers. The teleconverter stays on my camera. I couldn't be more pleased.

Slight degradation of image quality
This extender works well on the Old 40-150mm f2.8, giving an f-stop of f4 and a reach to 420mm. But you do pay a price in image quality. In fact if you take a picture at the extended 420mm and compare it to the same shot at 300mm enlarged to equal the size of the shot at 420mm, the enlarged 300mm shot looks to my eyes to be sharper.

TOP QUALITY! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND
400+I was looking for a way to extend the Focal Length off my 40~150MM F2.8 Olympus Pro Lens which in and off itself is a VERY SHARP OPTIC. I had read various reviews both online from Olympus as wells independent people. IF YOUR AT AALL HESITANT GET OVER IT AND BUY THIS 1.4 EXTENDER AS IT'S SHARP AND EXTENDED MY REACH TO EQUAL A LITTLE OVER A 400MM LENS! I'M EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTING IMAGES AND KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE AS WELL.

Only if you absolutely must have the extra reach
After having this for a while now. I can say that only if you must have the extra reach this is a good option. The image quality suffers noticeably. Only the center portion of the image retains acceptable sharpness.
