Can Help Mild UTI
I had heard people say that the anti-bacterial medication in Cystex PLUS (methenamine) was helpful and effective. I tend to have a low-level UTI almost all the time - I am a colonizer of bacteria. Have been using Cystex PLUS for about three weeks, and so far I am asymptomatic. I don't think this will help a serious, full-fledged UTI, but at least for my minor symptoms, it is effective. We'll see how long this continues to work for me.

I love this product
I love this product. I used to have a tendency to get UTIs frequently and then be annoyed that I had to wait to get into the doctor's office for prescription antibiotics. Also, the other "relief" agents sold turns my pee totally red/orange. This doesn't alter the urine color and for some reason makes my UTI symptoms go away. Some research shows that UTIs can go away on their own... so maybe this just helps me get through it.

This is a staple in my medicine cabinet...
I prefer this to AZO simply because it doesn't add the orange, staining dye that AZO uses. Both work wonders.I get UTI false alarms occasionally, because my urinary tract gets irritated if I have too much caffeine or dark liquids (I'm looking at you, massive mug of coffee). Cystex Plus soothes everything during the "Is it a false alarm or not?" phase. If I still need it 18 hours later, I go ahead and book a doctor's appointment. If you have an actual UTI, and not just an irritation to your system, this will NOT cure you, but it will stop the pain and slow the infection so you can wait for business hours and the first available appointment to see your doctor.P.S. This warning is everywhere, but it bears repeating... IF IN DOUBT, GO SEE A DOCTOR!!! Waiting even 2-3 days is long enough for a UTI to work up to your kidneys, and then you are pretty much guaranteed a stint in the hospital for IV antibiotics. If you think you don't have the hours/$$ for a doctor and prescription, think about the DAYS/$$$$ for the hospital. Please, take care of yourself...

The best
I haven’t had a urinary tract infection in 15 years thankfully, but when one popped up recently, I instantly remembered how awful they are. Of course it’s never at a convenient time (not that there is a convenient time for a UTI), always late at night or on the weekend, when you just want to relax. I’ve used AZO many times in the past and it worked as it was supposed to, but who wants dayglo orange pee (TMI sorry). I’d never heard of Cystex and the reviews were great, so I gave it a shot. I absolutely like this better than AZO. No orange pee, no pain and it has antibacterial in it as well which helps even if you’re at the point of no return. Definitely made it easy till I could get to the doctor. This is one of those items that you really hope to never use, but I will definitely keep these on hand.

Never be caught without this!!
As a chronic UTI sufferer of 25 years, I always had Cipro and Pyridium on hand... always! It was my go to until last year, when I lost about 6 months of normal life to recurring, incurable UTI's.. the doctors suspected cystitis because nothing would grow on the cultures, but ultrasounds didn't show anything either. I drank nothing but water, stopped caffeine/alcohol, anything acidic, reduced my sugar intake, held out from all intimate acts with my husband, all without success. After 3 1/2 solid weeks of two different antibiotics that wreaked havoc on everything EXCEPT the pain and discomfort, I was prescribed a 2 month regimen of a low-dose antibiotic, and I just couldn't do it. I wanted nothing to do with antibiotics anymore, so I filled the prescription (just to have) and started desperately searching the internet for alternatives. I stumbled across AZO (the relief tabs & the Triple Strength cranberry tabs), D-mannose (which I never tried, scared off by some reviewers saying it worsened symptoms), and Cystex.I loved that Cystex was both an analgesic and contained an antibacterial agent, so I bought 3 boxes. At this point, I had become almost numb to the constant discomfort, but I decided to do a final run of the low dose anti-biotics along with Cystex 2x's/day, and believe it or not... it wasn't until I FORGOT to take the pills that I realized I'd actually started to feel normal again. Out of sheer fear, I waited a couple more months before bringing all the things I had cut myself off from back into my daily routine..and life was good again.I don't know how this would work if you are experiencing a full-blown infection... I would still suggest getting an Rx from your doctor to keep it out of your kidneys. But for those of you who are chronic sufferers understand the desire to NOT always take an antibiotic in fear of becoming resistant. I try to limit anything that is anti-bacterial so as to allow my body to naturally fight off what it can... but I'm not going to lie, my go to is Cranberry as it is all natural, but if I feel even the slightest of ANYTHING coming on within 6-10hrs after taking cranberry, I double-up on the first dose of Cystex, then drop down to 1 in the evening, and 1 the following morning, and it does the trick.I ALWAYS have this stuff on hand, and use it as a preventative. I have it at home, in my drawer at work, and in my travel kit. I take 1 tab before or immediately after being intimate with my husband w/ 1 or 2 glasses of water. Sometimes I take an AZO Cranberry tab along with it, but I have (knock on wood) been symptom free for nearly a year now. I'm still terrified, but this stuff has been a life (and marriage!) saver. I get anxious thinking of what I would do if this product was ever discontinued.Customer for life, 5 stars!Good luck to you all seeking relief.

Only OK
These are actually the same as regular Cystex; Plus has been discontinued. These only took the edge off. I had to upgrade to prescription medication.

Great and instant relief! Remember it has NSAIDS so don't use if you have kidney or stomach issues.
Works almost immediately. Remember that this has an NSAID ingredient that is active, so if you have kidney or stomach problems, please be careful using this. But it really does give fairly instant relief from UTI pains.

Great for UTIs
This stuff works very well. I usually use D-Manosse to avoid UTIs but if I forget or get lazy and one comes on I take these for a day and then move to the D-Mannose and problem solved. Definitely work. I will always have them in my medicine chest. I did not get these on promotion.
