I'm a seamstress for a living- I sew garments from both fabric and leather. I LOVE these scissors. They literally cut leather like butter, and they hold their edge for many many years. I had a pair of these I used for almost 6 years, til I decided to get a new pair. I used to have high end leather sheers from Tandy Leather, but those can not even compare to these. These are so much easier on my hands, cut better, have a great tip that cuts to the very end, and hold their edge better. I cut through 4 layers of leather all day long with these. I decided recently to replace my high end sewing sheers with these, so now I have a pair on my leather table, and a pair on my sewing machine table, makes with painters tape on the handle. I'm a stickler about scissors having an exclusive purpose, and my fabric and leather sheers not crossing purpose. Multi purpose blades dull quicker. Anyways, now I not only have a pair at each station, but I also have five backup pairs. Why, you may ask, are 5 necessary? Because I have been a seamstress for 20 years now, and these are the best scissors I've had. I do not trust they will be around forever, or will remain this price. It sucks to have a brand you love be discontinued, or go out of business. I wish to have these scissors sitting at every station for the rest of my career. I randomly buy another pair or two whenever I think about it. Oh! And I prefer the 9". The 10 is too long and I don't like the feel of the 8. I have pretty wide palms and long fingers, but i am still a woman, so the momma bear pair is perfect for me.

Cuts through fabric with ease. The weight of the scissors is an even weight. Not to heavy not to light. They cut as sleek as they look. I had to buy a second pair only because my husband used them on paper and they are now the best paper scissors I own however, I do not suggest as these are the best fabric scissors.

I was shopping for a pair of do it all kitchen scissors. The kind that could cut through fish skin and bones, as well as chicken or pork. Then to wash them, throw them in a drawer somewhere, and after weeks of non use come out clipping coupons or homework assignments with ultra sharp, precise lines. I got that and my mind blown at the same time. These are THE BEST pair of scissors I have ever purchased. Hands down. Sharper than anything they can cut through just about everything with no effort. Easy to clean and easy to tighten if they ever do wiggle loose, but I have not had to adjust anything on them since I purchased them. I know they are labeled fabric/heavy duty scissors, but since I wanted kitchen shears/utility scissors combo, I thought I would try these out and see how they do. Everytime I take them out and cut something, I break out in this huge smile because of how effortlessly it glides through whatever I'm cutting. My old scissors couldn't even cut paper or thin fabric as it would just fold over and slip between the blades. Especially at the tips because it would just bend the blades outward. These hardened-steel scissors will cut perfectly every time. Kind of silly getting excited about a pair of scissors, but it just goes to show you how much junk is being shoveled to us and when a real tool shows up, it overly impresses'. If you are looking for large utility scissors, precision scissors, kitchen scissors, perfect garden scissors or even scissors for the toolbox or garage, this 1 set does it all and with its rust protection, itll be around for a while.

Bad news first. This is not a professional grade tool. The handle is dipped in smelly rubber to make them grippy, but also to make it so less metal is used on the handle fame. I wear XL gloves, and they feel a bit tighter around the fingers than I'd like. The finish isn't great, even on the exterior where things are most visible - the interior surfaces show some crude grinding marks, even some done after the blacking was applied that was never touched up. Pretty sloppy. The hardware is cheap, but it does take adjustment (finnicky) and seems to stay put when in use. Every part of the scissors had brown oil on it, so you'll want to dismantle and clean them thoroughly before cutting anything that needs to remain pristine. Good news: they work pretty well, I would say! Despite the rough finishing, there aren't any dings on the cutting edges, and one blade is hollow-ground. I was able to get a clean cut through 4, 8, and 16 layers of a cotton t-shirt. This may not be a true test of their full functionality, but I felt that would likely exceed anything I would be trying to put past them. They handle ~3/16" leather with no problem. I wouldn't recommend them if you're a serious craftsperson looking for top-of-the-line gear, but if that's the case, you're probably not shopping for new tools on Amazon. They seem ideal as a backup pair, or as a starting pair for general use by hobbyists like myself. If you're thinking you're going to use them very frequently, I'd recommend going to a craft supplies store and getting a good pair of fabric scissors that you can try out before buying.

Good quality well made and.very sharp

These scissors are super sharp and of professional quality. This is the first pair I bought for myself, but the third pair I bought. The price is incredible for quality like this. You won't be sorry if you purchase a pair or two.
