First Knits: 20 Irresistible Hand Knits for Babies

I’ve been knitting Debbie Bliss designs for almost 30 years now and have all of her baby and children’s pattern books. All of which I have used again and again. I’ve recently purchased this book and already have the patterns earmarked that I want to start making for a friend at work who is due her baby in January. Perfect, timeless, gorgeous designs as always.

Love the patterns. Been knitting since I was in my teens and never realised how many things I had just made up my own way of doing. The tips and techniques were brilliant. Have just sewn up a cardy and using the technique given, seems are so neat. Love, love, love this book. The patterns are for 3-6 months smallest - so I think the Title might be a bit misleading. I think it means first knits as in first time you have a go!

I purchased this book with high hopes. It’s a blind purchase so you don’t know what will be inside . It also only contains instructions up to 2 years of age which is a little disappointing.I did find, however, a few patterns I liked and am in the middle of knitting one now.It would be nice to actually have pictures of the designs included.

I was very disappointed in this book,I am knitting for premature twins and the patterns in this book are not first knits, I love the pattern on the cover which I will knit. I’m also a very experienced knitter there are too many teaching lessons.i would have returned it but couldn’t be bothered.

A beautiful knitting pattern book, with some unusual designs. The illustrations were good and it explained all about the stitches. I really love this knitting pattern book and I’ve made most of the patterns

This book contains an interesting selection of garments for babies and toddlers. One aspect that was not of much use to me was the basic ‘how to knit’ section but might be if use to a beginner knitter.

Used the pattern on the front cover, a pretty cross-over cardigan and very pleased with the results. Only problem buying on line you can’t see what other patterns are in the book, so rather expensive if you don’t use them.

Looks so cute it haven't started it yet.
