I was concerned with a tough install taking down the headliner no need to on a 2011 Tacoma. Two screws a rubber gasket and plug on the connector and your done. Works and looks great quite easy to do. So much better than the stock red one. Worth the price.

Another 2006 Tacoma owner said the QD didn't fit their existing female end. It worked just fine with my 2006. One thing to note, make sure the 2 pins are square with the connector. Mine required the most miniscule tweak to straighten them, then the QD seated perfectly. I also used Goo Gone to clean some of my old gasket residue that was left over after OEM Lens removal. Glad I pulled the trigger on this kit!

Direct replacement for OEM unit. Comes with new gasket with adhesive on both sides. Removing the old unit is difficult because of the glue on the foam gasket. Used a plastic putty knife to peal the old one off. Used some Goof-off adhesive remover to remove the rest of the old gasket. New unit is an electrical plug and play switch up. Looks good installed. Wish it was brighter though.

I saw this third brake light on another 2nd gen Tacoma while driving, I had to get one for my 2014 Tacoma.

Bought this to match my smoked out tail lights, which matches perfect but1.It’s supposed to be plug and play for a 2nd Gen Tacoma. I Had to move both prongs connected to the 3rd brake light down in order for them to be “plug and play”. After doing that, they plugged in fine.2. Condensation after a car wash.Did everything right, probably not sealed correctly somehow?3. If neither of those inconveniences happened, I would give them 5 stars. I love the smoke on smoke look!

Work really well and looks even better

Few months later it still looks and functions like new. No leaks after many washes and rain. No fading of the lens either. Knocking on wood now.

Lots of people complain about how difficult it is to install the 3rd brake light on the 1st gen tacomas. And yes I agree it is about 1 hour of pulling trims off to get the headliner down. But at the end of the day that has nothing to do with the quality of this product. It looks very oem like since it is not tinted like many are on Amazon. However when the brake light is on it looks amazing! LEDS are bright and makes it look really modern compared to the original. I can't speak for the weather seal as the truck hasn't been in the rain or car wash yet. I would say that the seal failing is the most common complaint about these aftermarket 3rd brake lights. Such a sham if you are paying over $100+
